I know that it has almost been a year since I have posted. I wanted to do a quick post so you could see what has been going on for the first half of the year. I will be posting about a couple of adventures that we have taken during the year. We stay have one more big adventure to take before the year is over. I am going to go by month. :)
In late January, we had a winter storm. That is not heard of where we live. Now, It wasn't a snow winter storm. It was an ice storm that came rolling across the state. Since our town and the surrounding towns are not use to the kind of weather, people were driving crazy. The weather was deemed bad enough to close our post down for three days.
March was a very busy month for us! We had two big trips back to back. At the beginning of the month, we attended a Frozen release party. We got to dress up and I made cupcakes for the party. At the end of the month, we took a trip to Walt Disney World with friends and then turned around to visit family in Nashville!!! (I will do a separate post on those trips!)
April we had our first Easter egg hunt with the neighbor children. It was a lot of fun since it was also a pajama party! All of the kids and parents came dressed in their warmest pajamas.
April was another busy month for travel. This time we Daddy with us and our destination was Washington D.C. My sister-in-law and I got selected to run a race there! More details on the race to come later. We got to spend a couple of days walking around D.C. and stayed at Fort Myers lodging. It was so beautiful and a lot cheaper!
May - July
Even though we did not travel far during the summer, we had a lot of fun going to different local places. We went to the beach, picked strawberries, went to the zoo, and had a distance relative from Germany come visit us for three weeks. Now where we live, there is not much to see since we do not live by a big city (New York, Orlando, Atlanta, ect) but we kept him entertained.
Independence Day was fun with the family. We went to the Freedom Fest at our post and had boiled peanuts, frozen sweet tea, and of course hot dogs!!! We came back to the house to watch the fireworks but poor Squeakers was so tired out that she fell asleep before the first one went off. She slept through the whole show.
Well I have to run for now but I will try and update the last couple of months soon! Have a great week and a Happy Veteran's Day!!! Tschuss ~Mack
